Description
Maritime cargo traffic in the northern region of Viet Nam has increased significantly and will exceed existing port handling capacity. Facing this situation, the Government of Viet Nam carried out a feasibility study of a new container terminal (Lach Huyen Port) development project for which it requested the Government of Japan to provide a yen loan. In response to this request, the objective of this study was to carry out a detailed design study of a Lach Huyen Port development project including a new terminal, road, and bridge. PADECO was responsible for: (i) planning for the disposal of dredged material; (ii) demand forecasting and economic/financial analysis; (iii) road management and operations planning; (iv) and planning of HIV/AIDS prevention measures.
