With the funding from the Ministry of Transport of Japan that was responsible for the tourism administration as well as the transport sector, ITDIJ conducted a study on the tourism sector in Ecuador and Venezuela, aiming at (i) overall review of the sector including public and private sector players; (ii) identifying issues and problems that need to be addressed for further developing the sector, especially in terms of eco-tourism; and (iii) making recommendations on possible areas to which Japanese development assistance in the field of tourism would contribute effectively.
