Description
Colombo suffers a great deal from traffic congestion but also lacks the capacity for implementation of existing plans for transport improvement. This JICA study involved the following:
1. Identifying CMR’s urbanization and urban transport issues and formulating a strategic urban transport master plan for CMR;
2. Clarifying the main urban transport issues in order to formulate a short-term urban transport improvement plan for CMR; and
3. Proposing implementation arrangements for ensuring realization of the proposed short-term improvement plan for CMR.
